Back to Work!

The remainder of my vacation in LA was fantastic. The second week was filled with lots of fun activities, family time, and visits with friends. My mom, Mandi, and I had a day at the spa in San Diego, where I enjoyed a long, relaxing hot shell massage. I also got to spend some time with Mark and Noah, who is getting huge–he’ll be 4 this month! I had dinner with Gaby, and another 4-hour dinner with Kimberly and Zena.

There was also some wedding planning which occurred during that trip. My mom and I visited my top choice of venue…and I thought that if it was even one-quarter as amazing as it looks in pictures, I would be sold. I think my mom and I would both agree that is is ten times as incredible as we could have ever imagined. This place is spectacular. It is both grand and huge and breathtaking in its beauty and size, and charming down to the teeny tiny details. There are gigantic pieces of art installation on site, as well as tiny embellishments like tree swings and fountains. Since we haven’t officially booked it yet, I don’t want to give away the surprise…but keep checking the Tying the Knot section on emuzines for details!

So now I am back to work…lierally and figuratively. I went back to work on Monday, and started class yesterday. I am taking an advanced statistics course this quarter, and am delighted to have several of my friends in the class with me! I have also made really good progress on my qualifying papers this week, and am organizing new goals for my treatment kiddo. A very busy week, but I am energized and productive.

Saturday is January’s First Saturday, and lots of people are coming over. Nik and I will be making lots of yummy food and spending some time with great friends. I can’t wait!!
