Weekend Alone

Nik went down to LA this weekend to help celebrate his best friend’s 30th birthday. It’s very rare that he goes out of town without me, so I knew it would be weird! So, although I knew I’d miss him, I decided to make the most out of it. It turned out to be a really relaxing weekend, and I ate the foods he doesn’t like, and took up a lot of space on the bed!!
Yesterday was JoJo’s birthday party. Carolyn and Amy brought over Ajax, Wags, and Yankee–all of whom JoJo knows and loves. It was such a crazy and such a fun day. I’ll try to write a post with pictures and videos after I get them onto my computer. JoJo had a blast!
Last night, I cooked the one meal I never make when Nik is around. So we all know he’s a picky eater…but I tend to make anything I want most of the time, and he is expanding his tastes. If he absolutely doesn’t want something I make (e.g., chilli), he’ll find his own dinner. But he really, really hates the smell of scallops…so I don’t make them when he’s around. I admit that it’s a strong smell, so I totally understand. But I took advantage of him being out of town and made myself a delicious meal of scallops, garlic asparagus, and peppered brie. Oh, so delicious.
Today I spent the morning working out, then studied for a bit. This afternoon I am watching some episodes of Lost–I have started watching from season 1–and I’m cooking soy sauce chicken wings. This evening I am heading to David’s to do our statistics homework together, and then I’ll swing by the airport to pick Nik up.
Looking forward to a busy week, and First Saturday Dinner and a Movie on Saturday. Our new furniture is coming on Wednesday, so we’ll be able to use it when people are over this weekend. Maybe with people eating at the table, they won’t have to guard against JoJo’s wandering tongue so much!
Yeah, last time we made scallops, Nik said he was going to die…

Yep, it was for her birthday. I’ll post some pictures. They came out really good!! I saw your doggie Sprinkles treat. Too cute!
Ooooh that scallop recipe sounds SO GOOD. I recently made something with scallops so that’s been on my mind lately. So when you were making doggie treats the other day, was that for JoJo’s birthday? How fun! I bought sprinkles cupcakes for my dog (the doggie version of course). It’s fun to spoil the dugs =)
