Today

I had my second-to-last first day of class today! I am actually pretty excited about this class–it seems like it covers really interesting material, the professor is sweet and approachable and knowledgeable and funny, and Amy is in it!! We spent the morning talking about economic hardship and its effects on development and family life. A bit of a throwback to my master’s program–some review but some interesting newer research as well. Amy spent the morning winking and smiling at me, which made for a fun three hours.
I have had an incredibly busy week thus far, as I performed a curriculum assessment for the child I am a team leader for at work, then spent a couple of days feverishly developing his new goals and writing his regional center report. I also had a big chunk of reading to do for class, and some coding for my dissertation, etc. So after class today, I decided to institute another do-whatever-I-want day! I called Nik and met him for lunch at Village Pizza, where I got to indulge in my favorite salad, their beet and goat cheese salad.
After lunch I headed home and am beginning the home portion of do-whatever-I-want day curled in my couch cocoon updating emuzines! On the agenda today? Probably some cleaning (JoJo was in a playful mood yesterday, and brought out many, many of her toys), maybe some gardening, some ball play with Jo, and perhaps…a nap!! It has been quite some time since I’ve taken a proper nap! Off I go…
