Friends, Sunshine, and Flowers

Today Nik and I headed over to Berkeley to enjoy a day of fun with our friends April and Seth. We love these two, and work hard to see them as much as possible even though they’ve left Davis and moved to Berkeley. Many fun times have been had with these two, including power outage champagne binges, midnight corn dogs made from scratch, and dangerous tandem bicycling through the streets.

This morning we headed over to the Berkeley Botanical Garden, a gorgeous 34-acre garden boasting views of the Golden Gate Bridge. We spent 2 1/2 hours hiking and strolling through the garden, enjoying the plants and the great views, chatting and catching up on weddings, school, and work. We had a fabulous spring day at this beautiful place! After we were done, we headed to Saul’s Deli in Berkeley for lunch, where we scarfed down tons of pickles and quenched our thirsts. I had a fantastic turkey sandwich on challah and ate every bite. I had forgotten how wonderful challah is! After lunch we strolled around Berkeley and poked around in some shops–there sure is a lot to see around there. A perfect day with great friends!
