All Aboard!

This past weekend, Nik’s best friend Dave and his wife Ashley were visiting Northern California, staying in an adorable little bed and breakfast in Napa. Excited at the chance of seeing some of our LA friends up here, we asked them if they were free to grab dinner or hang out for a bit. Turns out that they were booked to go on a wine train that evening, and they were able to add us to their reservation.

Nik and I headed over to Napa, a relatively quick trip, and spent the evening with them. We had a blast! We were fed dinner on the train, which was incredible. I was shocked at how tasty the food was. Appetizer, salad, sorbet, and a really delicious meal were all served in the dining car, and then we shifted over to a lounge car for coffee and desserts. Nik, Dave, and Ashley all had wine (although Ashley was tempted to have pina coladas on the wine train–how funny would that have been?) and I had a Brazilian (basically fancy vodka and lemonade–I could have downed 10 of them, but it was hard enough to walk in the train sober).

It was really nice to spend some time with Dave and Ashley, and to have a night out like that. We had a good time walking back over to their bed and breakfast after the train ride, throwing around memories and laughing (like when Dave gave me a fat lip and said no boy would ever look at me again…on the first day we met).
