Busy, Busy, Busy

I sit relaxing amidst my twinkling fall candles, a ton of them–pumpkins, gourds. The beginning of fall has proved itself to be incredibly busy, but it’s been a great start.
Class started last Friday (my last class ever!) and it looks like it’s going to be pretty interesting. It’s a seminar on emotional development, and the readings assigned thus far seem really interesting, things I will actually enjoy reading. Besides being busy preparing for class, reading, and organizing, I have been neck-deep in working on my qualifying papers. I finished the second one today and got it sent off! Thank you again to my mom for proofreading every last letter, even bringing up a good “a” versus “an” distinction!
Despite such busy times, I have been taking on even more. Sally is heading to Europe in a couple of weeks, and needed someone to fill in to teach her Autism Research Seminar. Amy and I decided to team up and take it on. It will be fun! In addition, Amy and I are working on a chapter together. We held off on starting work on it until after her prelims, which she finished last week. So tomorrow we delve into chapter-writing!
Relaxation comes in the form of going out to eat with Nik, scrapbooking, daily runs or walks (I ran into a huge coyote on the trail today! It was beautiful…but scary…!), cooking, and fall TV. I’ve never been much of a TV person, but I have learned the value of getting really into a show and having that to look forward to each week. I’m excited by some of the new fall shows, and Nik and I have been checking them out.
Off I go to tend to dinner. Nik is also currently picking me up ingredients for these little snacks, which I plan to whip up tonight. Rumor has it that they are incredibly addictive.
Nat, they’re delicious!!
YUM! Those look tasty! Let me know how they are. I have a huge back of gluten free oats that I need to do something with!
Wow are you ever not working on a paper? You are a crazy busy smart girl. Glad to see you can still enjoy the little things in life too. Happy Fall!
